Nicole and I left on Friday morning to San Diego!!

We drove down to avoid the airport BS, but had to deal with the L.A. to San Diego Traffic!!

It took us 11 hours to get there from San Jose, although we were talking and missed the 152 exit to get over to 5 from 101 and had to drive back up 101 to get over to 5! OOPS!

No problems though as we needed to have a car to get around in San Diego to all the things I wanted to show Nicole!

Like the NTC/RTC Naval base I went to boot camp at 20 years ago on 7/23! Half of it has been turned into town houses and the rest is shopping and a few community buildings from the old NTC buildings.

Wow, wasn't expecting to see that!

We had a great time at La Jolla, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Coronado Beach, Horton Plaza, The Comic Con (we went on Sunday!), Old Town, Hillcrest, and we stayed at the Kona Kai resort in the Harbor near Point Loma.

The weather was of course beautiful and they don't call it Sun Diego for nothing!

The Comic Con was fun but very, very crowded and as usual there were people dressed in their favorite comic or animated hero, and no shortage of stinky people!

I wore a bright orange shirt so my wife could spot me if we got spearated in the sea of black shirts!

It was so crowded I never made it to the DC booth to look for any cool Sandman stuff, but it was just to crowded.

We were able to get through the entire new artists area where all of the new and independent comic book authors, artis, and producers were and that was worth the price of admission right there!!

The drive home was the standard 8 hours and uneventful which is good, man if that drive was only 6 hours we would go there more often!

All in all we had a fantastic time and need to do some more travelling!
