The Antioch Golf Course will be closed to make way for a new Highway 4 bypass!!

Damn, I do not play golf, but that is a draw to Antioch!!

There are plenty of hills and open land in that area that can be used for the bypass, why used something that is a draw to the community?

Why, because of this damn ruling that local governments can take land for whatever they want.

There were enough signatures to keep the Golf course open (collected twice!) but that doesn't matter anymore.

Wow, the sad part is that I predicted our society becoming this way back in 2000 when GWB and his boys stole the election against Gore.

This is what happens when Republicans are in control, Big Buisness wins and the little man (the rest of us, including the morons that think they are part of the other club but are not.) loses!

Pretty good movie!!

Everyone did a great job, except Katie Holmes. Lawyers do not smile that much.

My only real complaints were:

Christian Bale's voice as Batman during dialogs ... just needs some work.

Gordon (Gary Oldman) should have had more screen time, they should have developed his character like it was in Batman: Year One.

Other then that not a bad action movie.

But this will be a great movie ... V for Vendetta

Natalie Portman as Evey and Hugo Weaving as V!

If you have no idea what I am talking about go to your local comic book store and get a copy of V for Vendetta, you will really like this Alan Moore comic.

A frightening and powerful story of the loss of freedom and identity in a totalitarian world, V for Vendetta takes place in an alternate future in which Germany wins WWII and Britain becomes a fascist state. A vigilante named "V" stalks the streets of London trying to free England of its ideological chains. Moore's poetic language coupled with Lloyd's eerie, washed-out color art makes this a captivating read sure to stay with you.

This is a great one!

I just hope the movie captures what you get from the comic book.

We had a great time in Las Vegas!!

We had a great time in Las Vegas!!

We didn't do much gambling (just some slots!) , the main reason to go was that I was meeting up with some friends that I was in the Navy with, we were all on the USS Waddell together!

Nicole and I met up with Randy (Dave) and his wife Donna at the El Cortez hotel in the old Downtown area, and Karl and his girlfriend Kelly came in late Friday night to the Plaza so we all met up on Saturday!

Karl and Kelly stayed the weekend and headed back to Arizona after we hung out at the Hoover Dam on Sunday. Randy and his wife met their friend Jackie in Vegas and they all drove to the Grand Canyon and then flagstaff and were heading home to Georgia on Friday. Nicole and I stayed until Tuesday and then drove home.

It was great to see them and we all had a great time talking, drinking and people watching (Las Vegas is great for that!) oh, and if you get the chance, eat a fried twinkee you'll love it!!

Nicole and I drove from Antioch to Las Vegas in about 8.5 hours (Getting good gas mileage from the Prius!), the drive home took 9.5 hours as there was some construction plus we started home the wrong way for 45 minutes!! Ouch!

I got out of the Navy, after 5.25 years of active service, the day the USS Waddell was decommissioned October 1st, 1992. I was able to get out early, I was signed up for 6 years active, due to the reduction in force put into effect by George Bush after the Gulf War.

Randy got out in 1991 and Karl got out in 1992 as well (I Believe!?).

We were all Fire controlmen, so we worked in the Combat Systems (CS) spaces, the F is to denote our old division name Fox (for Fire Control).

CSF4 = Gun Computer/Radar Center (MK ??? I don't remember!)

WASHINGTON -- Federal authorities may prosecute sick people who smoke pot on doctors' orders, the Supreme Court ruled Monday, concluding that state medical marijuana laws don't protect users from a federal ban on the drug.

The decision is a stinging defeat for marijuana advocates who had successfully pushed 10 states to allow the drug's use to treat various illnesses.

Justice John Paul Stevens, writing the 6-3 decision, said that Congress could change the law to allow medical use of marijuana.

The closely watched case was an appeal by the Bush administration in a case involving two seriously ill California women who use marijuana. The court said the prosecution of pot users under the federal Controlled Substances Act was constitutional.

'I'm going to have to be prepared to be arrested,' said Diane Monson, one of the women involved in the case.
In a dissent, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor said that states should be allowed to set their own rules."

This really sucks!!

Why do we have states if we cannot pass our own laws that the people vote for?

California should be its own country and we should sell all the other states (or separate countries ... ) food (at higher prices then we pay for the food!) so they will stay alive, we have our own oil as well so we will be fine.

Make Texas a state (they actually want this!) so they can all die, they do not have as much food production as other states, and I do not see large de-salininization plants on their shores so .... they will not last long!!

We need a Regime change!!

Watched some interesting movies this week:

Primer

Donnie Darko

Both of these movies are great, you will actually have to pay attention during these.

If you haven't seen these, check out the plot outlines on IMDB and see if you might like them.

The next on the list is American Splendor, looks good too!

Major part of the week is done, tomorrow Friday and then the weekend ... yes!

Today I had to take the car (prius) to get its first oil change ... sniff sniff... 1 month and 3750 miles, wow!

Still drives great, and with the gas price around $2.35 (cheap stuff) it is always saving us money with buying less gas to go the same amount of miles.
