Is anyone else out there going broke?

Without actually buying to much? It just seems that the last time I had a raise the gas price (in the Bay Area, California) was $1.60/gallon (1999!) now it is 2.16/gallon!!

That may not look like much, but my wife and I commute 150 miles a day round trip!

Ouch!

I know everyone always says you chose to live out there, but actually your salary makes the choice where you live not the people.

A new house in 1999 was $600,000 and good used homes (20 years old) were $400,000 in the South Bay where we work, but some cities over a brand new house was $250,000 where in the South Bay areas $250,000 got you a 30 year, or older, 1 bathroom house!

So where am I going to move?

HHmmm...big choice!

Our house rocks, the neighborhood is pretty good, it is just the drive that kills us, mostly because work sucks!

But back to the point, we don't take expensive trips, we do not drink, go out to bars, or have extravagant clothes.

We just spend to much for the normal shit, even though we have things trimmed pretty tight. Cable and phone is bare bones to keep the internet connection on, cell-phones (now the main phone!) Internet is re-imbursed by work, etc.

Anyone else?
